I cant even begin to express how happy I am to have saved this coin. It was obviously a huge bucket lister for me, as it is for a lot of people, but to be able to find one in such good condition is just unbelievable. Not only is there so much history behind these coins but they also happen to be one of my favorite designs! All I can say is thank God for sandy soil!

That's a banner in my opinion. It's not the first to show up on tnet, but good grief, the condition is amazing! And, it's such a historic coin for the U.S.
Looks like it was made yesterday, it really takes you back in time holding it! And the history is so interesting, although we didn’t completely adopt this system, this is what started the money we use today!

Your so right. It’s a beautiful design and congratulations on the find!

What an exciting find! I've never found such an unusual coin nor one is such fine shape and I've been at it for a lot of years! Congratulations!

Thank you! I do put a lot of time in every week but luck is a big part of it as well, I just happened to swing over this signal that day it could have been anything! :)

Nice find! The ground was kind to that coin.

Man o man that thing will be hard pressed to beat in the condition arena.

Amazing coin, I wish I had your soil!:occasion14: (Oxford Clay here)

What a beautiful piece! It is a Crosby 3-B which is a rarity 2 variety, between 501 and 1250 estimated to exist. While this is the most common of the 1785 varieties, yours appears to be a very early die state, there is usually a die break in the wreath of the reverse which I don't see. Very nice!
