I've figured it out...

The reason that we all find anything is that we are actively looking for something out of the ordinary -- some of us use metal detectors... some just our eyes, mining pans, whatever...

This extra bit of looking at things from a different perspective helps us find things that nobody else seems to notice... :o

Keating is standing on his desk
John Keating: Why do I stand up here?
Dalton: To feel taller!
John Keating: No!
Dings a bell with his foot
John Keating: Thank you for playing Mr. Dalton. I stand upon my desk to remind myself that we must constantly look at things in a different way.

So, I went to pay a bill --- as I got out of my car, I found a crisp $1 bill on the ground... Went and had a Venti White Mocha @ Starbucks... The went to put gas in my car... and figured I'd buy $20 worth of scratch off tickets... AND THEN....

I SOUND MY BARBARIC YAWP OVER THE ROOFTOPS OF THE WORLD.
One of the tickets was a $100 payoff...

So, tomorrow, I'm putting it into stock...

Sounds like great day you had memphis!

Congrats on your finds!

;)

uhhh -- i did end up stepping in the proverbial kaka earlier -- was helping my brother repair his dryer at home... his sewer had backed up ad I was walking through the foul water all day...

Your good deed paid off! (trudging around in poo water)!

Lost a good young friend and her boyfriend to a motorcylce accident (Dec 7th) :'( and I'm good friends with her mother and brother too...
We were told of how when she was a baby, she swallowed a quarter and her brother picked her up and starting shaking her upside down trying to get it back... ::)

Her mother and brother went to the scene and there was a...... quarter. :o Now there are reports of quarters being found by many of her friends, myself included and there was even one taped to the wall at her desk where she worked.

I'm sure we see these quarters all the time but never noticed them or even picked them up till now.

I liked that quote from Keating... :)
