I'm not sure what, if any, impact there would be to your warranty, as I believe these protective films are removable without causing damage.

I know for myself, on day one, I put a screen protector, not a Zagg but one of similar quality, on my DFX.

For me, this was just another added measure of protection, as I have also always kept a protective cover on the head and body (guts) of the detector, one of the heavy cordura fabric types manufactured by Thesaurus Accessories.

I also use a Zagg full body cover for my phone and an offbrand protective film for my iPod Touch.

I think they great and are worth putting on the detectors to protect the screens, especially if you're out hunting in wooded areas at all, where it's more likely to be poked by low branches. Heck, it's even just a good idea to provide a little protection to the screen while the detector is being transported around in your vehicle.

hello T'hunter,

As Johnny Cache said good move.I've had a Zagg on my SE from day one and love it.
It sure makes it easier to clean, there are times in Spring when you can get a little muddy.
The grit in the mud can quite easily scratch the screen.

I really doubt it would void your warranty, but you can call someone in the know in Nevada to check.
I can be removed if need be.
I really like mine and would put on again in a heartbeat.
Especially since it's a touch screen.
I think the stock screen is the one area of concern(Achilles Heel)of the entire system.
The peace of mind it offers is well worth the price.I'm not affiliated with them aside from being a happy customer.
I have it on my blackberry storm (screen) with Seidio Innocase II Surface body protection and have made the phone almost bulletproof
Now if Seidio would only make a case for our SE housing, that and zagg on the screen,I'd be good to go.

Good luck,
Ron

Does anyone know if installing this on the Minelab will void the warranty ? Mine is only 3 months old & I just had to send it in for a new LCD screen. Was thinking of putting the Zagg on when it comes back, unless it voids the warranty. Thanks, Ron
It will not void the warranty. It can be removed and no one would ever know it was even on except that the screen would not have a scratch on it.

I've had mine on my E-trac and was the first one to have it in the world on an E-trac. I was the one who contacted Zagg about a screen protector and I had to send my E-trac in to have the pattern made. The Explorer was sent in by another person who got the idea from my experience with the E-trac.

I don't make a cent from the company and I own no stock. I was just looking for an answer to all the scratched screens that I have been seeing in the field. My old Explorer was a wreck with scratches all over it and had the screen replaced twice. This product no longer makes screen replacement necessary.

Thankyou all for your responses. I will be putting it on soon. Ron
