Something I'd avoid... :icon_scratch: These markets are so delicate, you have to know your stuff not to lose out. :dontknow: On the other side, you have to learn somehow and that's the best way. Just start buying and selling and see how you do !! :icon_thumleft:

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Yu Gi Oh Japanese Common Cards Set of 10 from SHSP Series | eBay

Yu Gi Oh OCG Japanese Common Cards Set of 100 Mixed A Free SHIP | eBay

There really is no market for these. You need to look out for the Ultra rare, and Ghost rare varieties. These are common and uncommon, which hold little value. Yu gi oh has so many printings of so many cards you may as well just not buy them. MAGIC the gathering is a bit easier, you just look for a gold symbol, yu gi oh you need to do more homework.

You might be able to make your money back, but it will be a tougher sell. Non sports card market is soft when it comes to Yu gi oh right now. With the release of MTG and Star Wars last month. Good luck.

Yu Gi Oh Dark Paladin MRD 060 Ultra RARE NM Mnt Never Played LQQK | eBay

I EAT my words. After further digging you may have hit a good deal here. I didnt really look in depth, considering I dont know Japanese, but the second one from top is DARK PALADIN PROMO CARD I think. Again, if I remember correctly there are 7 different printings of cards. Common, uncommon, Rare, super rare, Ultra rare, Secret rare, and Ghost rare. You would have to do some more digging, but if you have a promo you may have struck gold with 5 of them.

Thank you. My card is not like those. I am going to have to go to a shop that sells singles and get them to identify these cards. I got over 500 cards for the $4 I paid and have 9 ultra rares, some secret rares, and a super rare. I will be ok, even if I don't get anything for the japanese cards.

The Rare varieties are the ones you will be getting money for. The other 500 or so you should try to sell in lots on ebay. Kids are the demographic, and they want quantity not quality.

How does one tell a "rare" card from a common one? I looked at the Dark Paladin card you linked to and I don't see anything on the card that indicates it is "ultra rare". Of course, I don't know diddly about these cards so I have no idea what to look for.

Nope.

I have made my biggest money buying and selling Magic the Gathering cards. Other cards games have similar successes: Yugioh, Pokemon, etc.

I have made some good money on Magic cards in the past as well, lately the market has gone down fairly fast. The Yugioh cards you have to look up the cards and check sold prices on Ebay for every card if you want an accurate price point. I did this with a collection of Pokemon cards I acquired. It sucks yes, but it was worth it, had a few 50 dollar cards in the group that I sold privately. The rest I just put into lots usually. This seems to be the best way to go.

Magic is a different story, you have many dealers who sell singles for deck builders. This is more of an adult game than for kids. Adults have the money and know how to buy a few 1 dollar singles for their deck, kids just want 20 cards for 1.99 and see what they get.

All CCGs have cards and grades of condition that make them saleable. You just need to roll the dice when you can get large blocks of cards for cheap. When you can get these cards for a cent a piece, you can do ok or hit a homerun. You never know! HH

I have been seeing these alot lately on the penny auction sites im on. I bid on them till they hit .10 cents and call it off. Like was said earlier this market is so delicate its hard to do anything with. The only thing ive seen hold strong is Magic the Gathering cards.

Value or a lack thereof, has to do with specific knowledge, as it is in any area of collectibles. As MUD (S.W.A.T.) says you have to know your stuff. I can tell a new piece of carnival glass from an old one because it's something I'm familiar with. Collector cards, although I do have many different varieties, are not my area of expertise.
