You've got $2000.00 to spend...
You suddenly came across $2000.00 to spend on metal detecting equipment. How would you spend it given the following parameters?
You currently have a Gold Bug 2, and a White's Eagle II. You want to pick up some of the deeper gold that the GB2 isn't catching, and get some functional upgrades to the Eagle II. You would like to be able to detect within the fresh water streams, but not a deal killer if compromised for much better function on land. Buy one machine and several coils or buy multiple machines - spend the $2000 however you see fit.
You live in an area with a history of producing gold, ghost towns, and more than 25 miles of tailings along the fresh water streams leftover from the gold rush days. Lots of hot rocks. There are huge areas where sandy bottom rivers have receded until the spring thaw that would be open to hunting. Parks and playgrounds would be hunted every once and a while, but not often.
Finding gold and jewelry is primary, finding silver is secondary. Relics are last on the list, but would be a consideration if these would be more likely to be found in these sort of places.
What would you get?
Obviously I'm trying to get some ideas on how best to spend a budget of $2000. I'm considering everything from the XT705 w/ several coils & Falcon MD-20, or maybe a White's V3i with an extra coil or two, perhaps an AT Gold & an F75 - even considering adding a few more $$$ to get the CTX 3030...I'm open to ideas!!
