If it's metal detected finds we're talking about - I'd like to find an Indian Head cent , a Standing Liberty quarter , and a Seated Liberty
coin of any kind . If it's life in general we are talking about , I think Lady Pirate's list is as good as it gets .

A Mercury dime. I have found silver Roosevelt dimes but never a Mercury.

I finally found my first dated buffalo nickel this year, a 1920.

any kind of CS button, belt buckle or plate!Any coins are always welcome under my coil, but a rare one would be nice!A artillery shell or shot would be nice too but harder to find these days with population growing.Any kind of gold would be a winner in my book.I could go on forever with what I would like to find!Right now I am just shooting for coins , relics and peace of mind!Good thread,HH

#1... A beautiful woman that loved to go digging with me

1) A winning Powerball ticket
2) A tropical island to buy with my powerball winnings
3) A private tropical island resort on my private tropical island with private accommodations for all my "liked" family and closest friends

Grass skirts bringing me fruity drinks, Capt. Ron as my fleet navigator and Capt. Jack Sparrow as my fleet commander. Every second would be an adventure and the rum would allow it all to make perfect sense.

Good question, I'm glad you asked. In my 28 years of off and on treasure hunting I have had the "thrill" to find just about everything from CSA relics to gold and platinum rings to beautiful old bottles. But.... one thing has eluded me, and that is a gold coin. I would love to experience that, and while I'm wishing, make that a cache of gold coins! LoL

1. Any Silver Dollar
2. Silver Coin Cache
3. Gold Coin
4. Gold Ring
5. 1800's Half Dollar

#1.Good health#2.Good friends#3.Good hunts..

Having just started metal detecting this year in January my want/wish list is endless. Right now, at the top of the list are the following:

1. A nice Indian Head penny..........don't care what year it is.
2. A silver half dollar........Doesn't matter what year
3. A Buffalo nickel.............The year is unimportant as long as I can read it.
4. A WWII war nickel..........any would make me happy.

Jarl,
Interesting question. I've been fortunate being here in NY with a lot more history and population from years ago. I've also had a great last year and got a number of firsts for myself that are on you list including an 1837 No Stars Seated Dime, 1872-S Seated Half Dollar, a key date 1804 Large Cent and a bunch of buffalos with date. Also found an ID bracelet that I returned a few weeks ago with the woman's name on it. She had lost it 57 years ago and boy was she surprised when I showed up with it. I also found a silver spoon recently that dates to about 1850 that was monogramed with the persons initials. When I first started metal detecting years ago using a BFO detector they picked up everything and I had found a number of 1943 steel cents, but haven't found any in probably more than 30 years. Argentium mentioned a standing liberty quarter and I found my nicest one in 35 years detecting about a month ago, a near mint 1920.

My list:

1. Bust silver coin of any type, the larger the better.
2. NY colonial copper piece ie Excelsior Cent, Clinton Cent, Indian w/Eagle on Globe etc.
3. Gold coin that is not a jewelry piece.
4. Washington inaugural button with GW.

I'll list 7 of mine, although I could list everything and call that good too:

1. A date readable Buffalo
2. 1800's Silver
3. A cache(I'd settle for a small handful in an old mint tin)
4. A key date anything coin
5. Relic with a person's name on it
6. A hobo nickel
7. A 1943 Steel cent(I know that's wishful thinking, but you never know...one might survive somehow)

How about you?

As far as finds go.

1. My first pre 64 silver
2. A gold ring
3. A Indian head penny or V nickel

As far as detecting

1. A Fisher F75
2. A site loaded with old coins
3. And good knees
