Got a new field right down the road, farmer said "You won't find anything..." always a good sign, some of my best finds come from nuthin-there fields.
Looks like maybe a preform, Jacks Reef/Intrusive Mound point, scraper and my son found a historic clay pipe, you can see the part of the bowl where it was scraped. Our first of these, don't know much about them so any info. would be appreciated.

Good variety! Hard to believe that a farmer can live on a farm for a period of time and not find at least one point?

Good finds. The pipe is a kaolin clay pipe, commercially made and readily available in the 18'th to early 20'th centuries, and probably before. They were used by anyone who smoked a pipe. Many are found on old pioneer cabin sites. One of my great grandmothers reportedly smoked them.
One of my good sites was in a firld a pro archy and local collectors told me was barren. It was except for a pair of early late woodland burial cairns that were partially plowed out, and a 13'th century occupation site and a late archaic workshop site.

I always liked the Jacks Reef points. I have a few I found in Franklin Co. Ohio back in the 70's. One is really nice the rest pretty beat up.

If you haven't already, I'd take the metal detector back to wherever you found the pipe piece.

I thought that must be it, but it doesn't look like any pipe I have seen. Looks like a piece of bone. Not sayin it isn't one though.

I get "you won't probably find nothing" a lot. It feels great to find something after they tell you that you won't... not so much when they tell you you will find something and then you don't.
