Detector(s) used
Whites and Garrett. I use several machines, the ace 350 is a nice machine. I have a 5900, 6000, whites.
Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
I found this the other day, I have posted it before but for some reason I think it is silver, the tarnish has been there for a long time. I brought it to the archaeologist that is in charge of native museum, he looked at it and said he did not know, it might be a dog tag??? I think that we find stuff that is important but not worth alot. I think it is of the trade silver time period. It came from a field that some stone items and some early English items came out of. I just do this hobby to get some fresh air and exercise, if you have any ideas let me know. There are no marks on it, the top of the item has been bent in some kind of vise. NT

Well, based on the out of proportion holes on the bottom, it's definitely homemade or not made professionally.

Your quick to accept that id, which may or may not be correct. How does it ring up on your detector? What detector you using? Lets establish thats it's actually silver to start with.

I use a whites 5900 some times, it came up in a nice tone. I figure it is close to the item in the posting. I think this is correct, do to the location and time period. The land owner was working with another gentalman who had a trading post across the road or in those days across the field. Who really knows for sure? :icon_pirat:
