while searching in the ghettos for a large cache i came across a metal can just sitting on the ground at the end of property lines...i started to pick it up but noticed the fellow looking out the window with dreadlocks in his hair,,,,thinking about the several like him that were continually stopping cars in front of the house i reluctantly stopped in mid reach, stood back up and continued on down the way....i found it, but then again i didn't......know it was either the CRACK they were peddling, or some proceeds from it................gldhntr

I found a half of what I think to be a token .the date on it reads 1885 .and has Grant on it facing to the left . I have never been able to find anything to let me know for sure what it is . ::) If anyone might be able to help me out I would love it. ;D

Post a pic of the 1/2 you have, that might help with identification.

Thanks.

When I was in Spain, on the beach after some really bad storms took all the sand away, I dug some really interesting things....
One of them was a small hand held Sundial, its a small brass barrell shaped item, with
the top threaded, when you unscrew the top, there is a small piece that flips up and
it has a small graded dial, with markings and a piece of round glass in the top
to cover the dial.
It fits in the palm of your hand.
I have no idea of its age, the only thing I have ever seen similar was one in a flier for Mel Fisher's Museum in Florida, where they got something similar from one of their boats.
Any Estimated value from anyone would be nice, I'm considering selling some of my things....

take care...
Richard

Looking at the picture, its obviously aluminum, and not very old...
My guise is a presidential token made for kids by a gas station company or something,
maybe 40-50-60's time period no earlier, the date would refer to his time in office, date
of birth, or something significant in his life.
I've dug Aluminum and copper ones before, but only Aluminum degrades like that..

Maybe I've been on this forum too long today, but everything I've found I have only found once. ???
Except maybe the gold coin I found. (I kept dropping it before I got a good hold of it).

Thanks Torrero
For the input .Everything that I looked up said just about the same thing .The year is his period in office and it is aluminum I had just never found a picture of the same token anywhere ??? .If you might come across any other info .It would be cool to see a picture of it . ;D God knows I haven't been able to find one . :-[

Thanks agian Diggit 8)
