That is what I was hearing as I walked up to my first yardsale this last Saturday. Some irate neighbor just went on and on about how you can't have yard sales in this neighborhood. All the buyers thought it was funny but the two lady sellers didn't think so. But they stuck up for themselves. The irate neighbor lived three doors down on a corner. The sellers were near the end of a short cul-d-sac. Then I heard the neighbor on his cell phone, he had called the police (a second time I guess) and was yelling at the police operator because the police had not gotten there yet.

People are funny thats for sure, did the police get there before you left?
No, I took my time though. Hoping to see what would happen. I was parked legally and not worried. The way he was carring on, if i was the cop (and I used to be one) I would have had a talk with him.

We have a lady like that that we respond to all the time, except it's her complaining about the little kids making noise while playing outside...at 2 in the afternoon...or like 11 in the morning.

My favorite was a guy complaining about the 10 year olds drawing on the sidewalk with chalk. I think he was upset about my apparent indifference and that I gave the girls badge stickers and commented on how nice their drawings were.

Now you need to stand on the sidewalk in front of her house, running your MD over her grass...

Some people have too much free time and not enough common sense :P

When that neighbor's house is foreclosed on next month, I'd be the one that walks over to her and let's her know I called the police about the illegally parked moving truck...

:hello2:

Ive got a next door neighbor who used to be like that, complained about everything. Ive lived next to him for 5 years & he has never had a job while his wife works her butt off so, needless to say I dont like the lazy bastid in the least. Ive always tried to keep my cool with the guy, listen to his complaints, be very mellow & cool. About a year ago he started bitchin about my dog barking, said he'd bark early in the morning & wake him up & he was being especialy rude about it. It really got me going so I told him if he'd get a damn job maybe he wouldnt be in bed asleep at 10 in the morning while his wife is at work, really ticked him off! He got smart, I became irate & it was all I could do to keep from hurting this idiot. Long story short, I told him if he cried about my dog again I was gonna drag him out to the curb & break him into tiny little pieces..........he has'nt said a word to me in a year, problem solved. I hate to allow things to escalate to that level, I do not condone violence on any level but sometimes it takes the fear of God to get people to straighten up & act right. Kinda sad......

Yep, that is what Dr. Laura would have said. (she has a black belt too)

The other day I was walking my dog and as dogs do in took a poo-poo on a lawn that is over grown, well the lady across the street started to shout at me about not cleaning it up,so I asked her what she was gonna do about the 4 cars that are parked in her backyard, dripping oil and killing the grass. She said that that's none of my business and what was I gonna do about the poo-poo.I told her that I'll clean it up when those cars are all gone. That shut her up!! :icon_scratch:

I had an old biddy come out and run me away from the tree lawn where I was detecting. "That's my property.", she claimed. Tried to explain to her that it was city right a way. She got real uppidy about it so I moved next door and she was right behind me that her neighbor didn't want it either. >:( Walked across the street and hunted there. She started over there but the guy working in his yard told the ole b-tch to mind her own business on her side of the street. :headbang: Told me to hunt to my hearts content and if I wanted to hunt his yard, go ahead. I thanked the guy and split the few silver coins I recovered from his yard. :icon_thumleft:

Some people! Make one wonder.

I had neighbors who were drug sellers and we got
into after I came home and the idiots had my driveway
blocked, which to me is a big no no.
Next morning I had 4 tires slashed, but my camera on
the side of my house caught who did it and they was
evicted the next week. (It was the neighbors)
Plus the landlord bought me 4 used tires and had them
mounted for me.
She had been trying to have them evicted but they always
paid their rent on time, yard mowed and all of that stuff, but
numerous complaints about the drug selling, but no proof.
But the vandalism took care of all of that !!

A guy I worked with use to be the town marshal of a small Florida town. Therre was an old busy body who always called the town marshal when she was annoyed about anythng. She lived near the city park and fishing pier. Jim, the T.M. pulled into the entrance of the parking lot and saw a motorhome and a couple of cars parked with several people having a loud augument so he flipped on his blue lights. Promptly the argument ceased and machinegun fire echo'ed through the air and riddled his patrol car as he dove for cover screaming in his radio "Shots fired, shot fired, I need backup!". Half of Lake County Sheriffs department flew to the scene unfolding. Criminals were caught and Jim was really peeved at that old broad because she nearly got him killed. The fighting was a drug deal that was going bad. Those old busy bodies are a PITA. :coffee2:

people seem to not understand that you don't own the street! I am a daily commuter taking a train from my neighborhood into Boston and every month I get someone who leaves a note on my car saying:

"Please do not park in front of my house, this spot is reserved for my husband/wife"

1.) a resident parking pass is required to park on the surrounding streets near the station... which I have, since I am a resident of the town
2.) don't buy a house next to a train station and expect people to not park in front of your house
3.) you don't own the street or the sidewalk
4.) really? a note?

I usually will just look at people like that as if I were not understanding what could be the big deal. Then they get closer and see that I have a gun on me and they shut up and leave me alone. It is true and armed society is a more polite society.

In florida a lot of areas are deed restricted . But in 90% of those areas garage sales are okay once or twice a year . In most cases the cops cant do a thing about them because it is HOA ordnances not county or state laws that are being broken . While the lady may of been in the right to complain about the garage sale sounds like she was complaining to the wrong person to me . More then likely she needs to complain to the HOA not the cops . Our HOA has stopped tiring to enforce parking and garage sale HOA rules since they cost the HOA more then the fine assuming they ever get to collect it .
