The cool thing about CRHing is that you don't need much money to do it. $20 buys most of the lose halves at any bank I've ever been to.

$20 also buys you 4 rolls of dimes, or 2 rolls of quarters.

Just give it a try...you'll still have $20 worth of halves when your done...and maybe some silver too!

Back when I was in college (1963 -1967) $500 paid my whole tuition and room and board for a semester. All the dimes, quarters and halves were ALL silver back then. I barely had enough spending money left over in a week to search one roll of nickels. Back then, there were still many... many buffalo nickels in circulation and I managed to get plenty of them and still have most of them today. Hang in there. You will advance in this hobby once you earn more money.

If you have just $100, you might be able to get a bank to order a box for you, but you'll have to promise the bank, and follow through with the promise that you will take the whole box in a month's time.

Ask them to order that box, and tell them you'll take $100 every week. Buy your $100 worth, and dump them ASAP. Go back in periodically and buy another $50 with the cash you got from your dumps, but make sure you go back every week and get your standing order of $100. So, every Friday, get the $100 standing order, and dump those quick, and get $50 every Tuesday.

Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.

You'll be through a box a month in no time. If you happen to be younger, most people (and banks) want to help polite young people. Who wouldn't want to help someone getting started 'collecting' half dollars, and anything else that is cool

If there is a will, there is a way. Go get 'em!!!!!

Can't go wrong getting the coins for face value, there is nothing to lose at all! If anything, you'll gain profit or at least a decant shiny coin for fave value which you could spend for face value whenever you want!

This is what I did. I started with 1 box a week from 2 different banks and I told them that I will take the box over a weeks time in lots.

Now the same banks each get me 2 boxes a week. I either get a box at a time or 1/2 a box and I dump them the next morning and go get the rest of the box.
