In recent posts, amongst other little digs, we are picking apart people for casting their own bars and whether it belongs on this forum, two of our best contributors and my favorite posters and most informative in my mind, Diggummup and Iron Patch are in the midst of a he said-he said tiff. I am not posting to further piss anyone off, just saying, I think some of our frustration is showing through. This forum has helped me a ton in finding more items I never knew could be resold. In a way IP has a point, when I came to this forum I was just a coin collector and interested in precious metals. Because of people like Diggum, I know much more about what to look for and what is valueable. Some might say I am all wet, cuz Diggum lives in Fla. and has yardsales all year long and IP doesn't yard sale at all, but I am just using them as examples of the recent animosity on here. Ok, I am off the soap box if that is what I am on. Let's have fun guys, that is how I have always seen this forum. I apologize if I am wrong here.

IMO, there has been some "change" around here recently. This is NOT the place for petty bickering.

This is not directed at any one person but I think a lot of people could stand to swallow some advice:

If you dont know what you are talking about, take some time to stop and listen and then digest the information that gets posted in the garage sales section. Much of it is priceless! People pay good money to take classes to learn half the stuff that is freely discussed in this section of Tnet.

I truly want each and every person who posts in this section to learn and grow and to be successful and profitable. But please consider that you dont know everything and everyone has a little something to offer or bring to the table in terms of knowledge. If you are guilty of being in the early stages of learning this craft, then keep your opinions to yourself. No one wants to look foolish and simultaneously provide misleading or false information for all to see.

Just my 2 cents,

Thanks.

Sorry, but I am not following, what does this mean?

Thanks Diggum, probably just my age showing again. I am not a "hip cat", LOL Again, as always, you are a fountain of knowledge. I apologize if I was wrong in using you and IP as examples of what I feel I have detected as recent bickerings and knit-picking, almost a mean spirited-ness going on lately on this forum. Thanks for seeing it for what it was.

As for the title subject... Stuff happens. It all works out in the end. There are many different personality types on here. We are all anonymous. 99 out of 100 of us don't know each other personally. It's inevitable that things will get a little colorful every now and then. That's life. I don't think there is anything wrong with people giving opinions, newbie or seasoned veteran. Just make sure any advice you give is accurate. Check your facts first. This is the best garage sale forum out here. Lets try to keep it that way. There is something to learn from everyone, in one way or another, be it garage sailing or maybe even life in general. Good luck hunting.

Not enough "likes". Thank you!

I think it has to do more with the genre of music than your age. They've been around for a good while, I remember them when I was in HS, '80-'83.

BTW- keep an eye out for any of their old tshirts, some are worth good money. Lots of old rock band tshirts are, especially the early punk bands. I've got an early Sex Pistols somewhere.

Any vintage punk stuff from the original movement is almost impossible to find. Most of it is in private collections of old band members. When it comes up for auction, it goes for big bucks.

On an unrelated I just drove 30 minutes to my local coin club meeting. I stayed 15 minutes and drove 30 minutes home. Complete waste of my time. Sometimes I wonder why I belong to any of these clubs... End rant.

Then we are about the same age, I am a bit older, as I was in college by the fall of '81. At that time, if it didn't have to do with sports or women, I was oblivious of it.

It is what it is, but what it ain't is frustration, at least for me.... because I'm on a roll! :)

On this old t-shirt comment, how do you determine if it is actually from that time period and not a later issue or reproduction?

I saw Danzig (original Misfits lead singer) & Doyle (current member) on Halloween night. It was amazing. Lots of old punk and hardcore people came out of the woodwork. I went in costume and full face paint. I was in the mosh pit for almost 2 hrs. By the end of the show I was soaked in sweat and did not have a drop of face paint left. It felt good to blow of some steam.

Anyway, I love treasurenet and in particular this forum. I've only posted once or twice but I really appreciate the insight I was given and I enjoy reading the posts.

I've found a few decent things recently and will post later. Thanks everyone.

I saw Danzing with Doyle once at HOB in AC. Was one of the many highlights of my life.

Now this is what I was talking about.........everybody is friendly, helping out, people are learning how to distinguish between real vintage tee's and repops. My topic has swung around 180 degrees and I couldn't be happier. I hope someone adds to this topic string this weekend with news they found a Misfits original tee and are looking at a healthy profit.
