I don't know what those suckers are worth but they are cool as heck. Nice!

Nice notes! I really like the Maryland colonial note since i'm from there originally. This one here sold for $97.75 this past August at auction.

This Obsolete Louisiana $100 sold for $96.60.

Here is a website that you can go to and research old notes and their worth. You just have to sign up like you did here to see what they sold for.

Re: You all won't believe these!!!1

I had a bunch of reprints (fake) bills like that once when I was a kid... they were pretty cool fakes - I cannot even imagine REAL ones!

Re: You all won't believe these!!!1

Isn't that $100 bill legal tender? So technically you could just go to the bank and get $100 for it? Why sell it for less than that... doesn't make sense!

Not a bad thought but I think that's a Confederate bill... hasn't been legal tender anywhere since 1865.

Re: You all won't believe these!!!1

Although the Louisiana note is CW era, technically it is called an "obsolete banknote". Before there were National banknotes (1790-1865), many private banks
issued their own paper money without US Government backing. Many of
these notes become worthless when banks closed. Many of them were
counterfeited and altered. When the national bank system was created,
privately issued paper money was taxed to the point of being effectively
outlawed. Unlike US Government paper which has always remained legal
tender, obsolete banknotes are now... obsolete. :)

Wish I had better news for you...

Unfortunately, the Maryland $8 note, serial #41020 is a known replica.

So is the Louisiana $100 note, serial #2650.

Both are listed on the following webpage of currency reproductions:

http://www.ronscurrency.com/rcbogus.htm

However, as already noted— real or not, they're still cool. ;)
