So we went to an old permission we have hunted several times. With the heavy rains recently and construction grading in certain areas, we had a pretty decent day. I think I stumbled on to a camp. We found several Civil War bullets, some grommets and a button that surprised me.
The coin is a crusty Buffalo Nickel.
The large copper looking circle is a Princess Pat rouge compact fron the early 1900s. Pretty neat find.
The silver buckle thing looks like a toy buckle with a sherriff's star on it.
The surprise of the day was the small black round object to the left. I almost tossed it into the trash bucket thinking it was a snap button. Once I looked closer at it when I got home, I saw the eagle. Turns out to be an early 1800s Militia cuff button with an eagle facing right, cross-section field with radially border. I could only find one like it in Albert's. Rare!
No backmark.
Happy hunting!
