Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
March 2nd Relic Hunt- Three Ringers, Tear Drop Bullet,Sharps carbine Bullet, watch piece, pewter button, one machined groove bullet, 3 fired revolver bullets, and a Large Rattlesnake. Not pictured- beat up ration and a hoe dug in a dump. Left them on a tree. Roman and I will dig out the dump and fire pit above on the next trip.

Heres a Pic of the Large Rattler that was way too close to ruining my day. I found a Three-Ringer close to him, looked to my right at another signal, and almost stepped on him to my left. I saw his Gold Head move and I jumped back. After that, I took a half hour break to lower my heart rate and get my legs back, they were like jelly. He has 12 buttons so hes been around awhile. Roman & I guessed his length at 5 feet. I think hes a Timber Rattler? I was not wearing my snake leggings, never again.
They go in the truck first.

Nice bunch of lead.

I think you are right on the snake id.

Looks like a Timber rattler to me

They are thick in the middle.

taste like chicken :laughing7:

you would not believe just how good they are boiled in cajun shrimp seasoning then strip the meat off the bones and have them in a salad or make a big pot of "long clam chowder" out of the spicy meat

Would wanna come across that.

too big to be a timber thing he's a regular one.

What exactly is a "regular" one? Diamondback, pigmy, Mojave, etc.?

Their rattle is NOT as loud as you hear in the movies I'll tell ya that right now!!!!

Nice finds, my detector would probably still be laying in the woods after taking off running. I don't mind snakes but surely don't want to be surprised by one.

They do taste great.

They have a more delicate taste than chicken. I like em cajun style or deep fried.

They're all keepers.. esp the snake!

I would find him with my detector after I put some lead in him. Nice bullets.

Maybe he is guarding the treasure ;D Sweet finds
Glen

^pl8man^ haha nice ;)

and awesome finds...lot of rattlers round my neck of the woods.....I pause....and carefully go the way I was coming lol

nice lead,,,,,,, no to snake last timber i seen was 1/2 '' from my nose in strike mode

Great lead digs ! Modern Miner Dug would have ripped that snake in half with his bare hands . He has been known to wrestle with anacondas , pythons , a rattler is an easy kill for the serpent slayer .

Great lead finds, my friend. A few years ago i was taking a lunch break on the edge of this field and encountered a very pissed off rattler next to this log. If not for the rattle, i would have most likely been bit before i knew what was going on
