Yesterdays 3 1/2 hours of diggin was spent only in a area 15' x15'. The dozer opened up a hut and I cleaned up.The Virginia Cuff button, Silver Bit and the carved bullet came out of the actual hut with a couple bullets. Sorry about the night pic. I've been diggin this site for a couple weeks now and I gotta tell ya its been a good while since I've had this kind of success. I've posted the earlier pics on the Treasurenets Relic forum which includes a Musket Rifle and a couple bottles I dug out of a trash pit. If your interested in seeing its under the post "Newbie with Dig Pics" by Va Dave
Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK in your Digs,
Dave

Dave, great stuff!! How did you come across the location?

If that's a dime cut in half then wouldn't it be a nickel? I know they use to cut up gold coins but wonder what the story is behind the silver ?

Thanks a lot Everyone? ?:)

I have the great fortune of being surrounded by 5 Major Civil War Battlefields, hundreds of troop encampments, supply ports etc. Heck , my front yard served as a Union encampment for the year Burnside twiddled his thumbs on the Rapahhanock, before the Battle of Fredericksburg. Also very rich in Colonial history. So diggers in our parts go any and everywhere, no map or documentation needed....in a sense.

Thanks again for looking and Good Luck in your Digs
