I got about 4.5 hours in yesterday afternoon at my new permission that I have been working the last couple weekends. You couldn't ask for a nicer property owner. I brought him a case of Michelob Ultra yesterday because he said that's what he likes. The place is still producing and I still have ground I haven't covered. As I was driving to the place yesterday I was wondering why I hadn't found more buttons - only two in three previous trips. That must have been a premonition because the first two keepers were one piece eagle artillery buttons circa 1830.

I was over four hours into the hunt when silver finally showed up and I could finally call it a day.

Also dug five IHPs. The slick green one is 1873.

Got a couple pretty rough nickels - 1907 V and 1915 Buff.

And this makers tag. It say F. B. Smith / Maker / Pat. September 12, 1882 / Canton, Ohio

I found it on a Whatzit forum. It went on some type of hand siphon.

Finally here are the better keepers from yesterday's hunt.

You are killing it with that permission. If you have more than you can handle let me know and when I am back home I can make a trip over to p-burgh.

Steve, you certainly have been busy.Congrats on all those great finds.

Awesome haul Steve! I bet that SLQ was a less than perfect signal being on edge like that too. Awesome saves and great tribe you collected there.

Fantastic old coin shooting! :occasion14:

That's a very nice hunt Steve. SLQ's are one of my favorite coins to find. Beautiful design. Also, the green patina on the old Indian Head id fantastic. Congrats!

Great hunt(s), pretty SLQ & tribe, great buttons and I like all makers tags, congratulations on all the saves & BOL on the continuance

A SLQ with a date! Very cool! Also nice IHP's and nicks! Congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Nice bunch of Injuns there, the SLQ ain`t bad either!

You have a sweet permission there. I don’t know about you, but when I am done a permission like that I take a different detector and rework the whole thing at a 90 degree angle. I don’t find as much as the first go round, but I always come up with some goodies. Coming at the targets from a different angle with a detector that operates a little differently from the first one does make a difference.

Good luck and keep swingin.

Awesome digs! Always a great day when you find early military and any type of silver.

Very nice finds congrats! Those buttons probably come with great stories. In the few years I've been detecting I've never found a military button!

John, it was a pretty decent signal, but I didn't do a very good job pinpointing it. I'm lucky I didn't hit it with my shovel.

Thanks Prof.

Thanks. I like finding the SLQs too. I haven't found too many of them over the years, but I try to focus on 18th and early 19th century sites.

Thanks. The buttons made my day and the SLQ was just icing on the cake!
SteveinPA, good variety, standing and Indians always make a good day.
Thanks Bassman. Everything around this house has been 1950 and earlier. Only one memorial penny, otherwise all wheats and Indians.
Wow. That’s a really productive day. Nice going!!
Thanks. I have been having fun at this place the last couple weeks.
