All Treasure Hunting
My buddy Albert (TEXAN Connection) and I hooked up for a day of detecting at a spot we have hunted numerous times. This is an enchanting and beckoning area full of Texas history. Except for the remains of a huge brick cistern nestled below the old railroad tracks, one would never know that once the area was teeming with activity, with at least two homesteads and 40 acres.

Yesterday my stratagy was to concentrate on the pockets high iron areas and go REAL slow with my Cibola and try to cherry pick some goodies.....and it paid off!

The two stand-out items were a very nice 1874 Indian and an old Scovill button (CW era?)
It was a memorable day of hunting! I can hardly wait to go back there again soon!

Haaa! his strategy was to concentrate on the places I already hammered and gave up on,,, and he pulled that button. Really cool place alot of new areas opened up this year and we are def going back.

Really cool spot, dates from 1830's or so till the very early 1900's. a pop top is as hard to find as a coin here. oldest coin found so far is 1850's.

Button depicts state seal of New York, "Excelsior", eagle over shield with rising sun and stars and stripes, intended for New York units. Backmark: "SCOVILL MF'G CO, / WATERBURY." dm between two rings of dots, ca 1860's, (ScovillM310). Three part officer staff button, coat size. Nondug button, gilded, stand up shank
Ref: Albert NY30, Tice NY220C4.
