Yes, I've got halves but none of them are silver...

I'm sure most have heard that from a teller before. I've always taken them anyway, but never found anything after being told that. After that they get added to my dump bank list. What do the rest of you do? Anyone had a great score despite being told that?

Buy them all. Some will only block the 64 and earlier leaving the pesky 40'ers behind. It has happened to me many of times.

Hahaha, i was told this last week as a teller handed me loose half dollars, one was real dirty, and it was a 1966. He also handed me two full rolls, and there was a very dirty franklin, but i scored 2 silvers after being told, there wasn't any silver.

I remember getting a bunch of rolls from a teller that told me they were searched. I had the feeling he meant searched by him. I bought them anyway. I found only 1 -40% ken in the lot. I took them back to that teller immediately for cash. "did you find any" he's says with a smirk. "yup" I say and his jaw hit the floor confirming to me that he had searched them, albeit poorly!

I went into another branch of my pickup banks and was going to just grab a box of nickels but decided to see if any loose half rolls were available. I got told they didn't have any. I guess thats better than a "none of them are silver" That means they know what your doing. While when I asked it seemed like an Oh we don't have rolls of halves.
