To nice a day to let get by today. Plus, they're tossing about that 4 letter word again. >:(

Anyway, I went back to the same modern schoolhouse I've been going to and I do think there's more to this place then first hits the eye.

Not a whole lot of keepables but, not too shabby either.
Plus, the quality of the hunt was good.

I'm not much on ammo but this has to be fairly old. I wouldn't think a shotgun has been fired in this suburban area in a very long time. Never seen this one before either. It says No 16 U. S. CLIMAX. :dontknow:

That makes 9 wheaties in 3 trips! Yep, something here.
I found 2 of these and a couple early 60's Lincolns in the same hole.

I know others have been hitting this place. But, ya know? I think they're just skimming for the big silver.
That's fine by me. ;)

Looks like you had a lot of fun....lotsa targets to dig is always good....like the one dollar.

Great way to beat old man winter for a day....glglgl.

Nice finds, cool that you found Susan B. and a silver Rosie, and the other things.

Thanks! Yeah, I did enjoy that, I gotta admit! :)

Just realized something too. That is my very first piece of silver for 2014!
Let the trumpets blow! LOL

Is that dime 1965 or something else. If it is 1965 and silver it is a valuable error. Great finds and good luck hunting!

Silver dime, bad picture. It is a very obvious 1963 in person. :)

the shotgun shell is a 16ga. made by US Cartridge Co. and dates to 1926 or before. the company changed hands and beginning in 1927, cartridges were made under the Winchester name.

Thanks! That makes sense. This area might have seen some gun play in the 20's.

Thanks for your help!

Looks like you alright the key to the city and if the four letter word comes true you can take up knitting lol GL and HH

Yeah. There's a funny story attached to the finding of that knitting needle.

I was hunting a hill overlooking a ball field and was try to figure where mom & dad would sit to watch junior play.
Finding some clad pockets, a couple minor jewelries, keys, etc., I said, "Ok, that's where Mom and Dad sat. Now, I wonder where
Grandma and Grandpa sat." (hoping for older :) )

I moved up the hill, closer to the parking lot and there, under a nice old shade tree, I found the knitting needle. LOL

Congrats on the first 2014 silver! Can't wait to get my first this year, It was 30 below zero last night and there's still well over a foot of snow most places. I got awhile yet haha.

Lucky to be digging, we have snow up to an elephants naval, then that much frozen ground, under that!!!! always enjoy your finds!! Keep Blingie happy!!

That's a crochet hook, if it was a knitting needle you'd need two of them.

Congrats on your first silver for the year! Blingie really likes the pink heart item, it's almost as long as he is!

Your finding some good 'ole stuff, perhaps the frost or freeze heaves this winter has moved the good stuff closer to the surface.

I'm still waiting for our frozen tundra to thaw enough I can hammer my screw driver into it, almost broke it last time I did that. This time I will wear gloves....no blisters.

The needle? What makes you think I hadn't but found half of the set? ;)

Thanks! Yeah, quite blessed! Also, I think I have a new area to concentrate on. It's hinting pretty good!

The gloves? Won't leave home without them! To dangerous out there!

Soon, Msbeepbeep, soon! :)

wow, a Susan B. Can't say I've seen posts with many of them.

Thanks!

Yep, those "double eagles" are kind of rare in the ground. Gave me a solid 90 hit too!
