I'll throw this up just in case anyone needs a laugh today. Yesterday, I heard a loud helicopter coming over, and went out on the deck to see it. Here came the biggest single rotor Marine helicpoter I'd ever seen. It was on approach to Arlington Park for a demonstration. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera ready. So, I got it all set and on the kitchen table in case another one flew over. (I'm an aircraft nut.)
Well, today I heard another helicopter sound coming from the same direction as the one yesterday. I grabbed the camera, turned it on, and ran to the deck. I hit the zoom so I could get a good close-up, when over the house flew a V-22 Osprey, flying the same approach to the track. I had never seen one in person before, and it was amazing! Huge and only 300-400 feet up! I was so proud of myself for having the foresight to get the camera ready!
Now this camera has a BIG LCD screen so I don't need my glasses to see what I'm shooting. I aimed it to the sky and snapped the pic:
Where the heck is it? Oh, it must be over this way a little - and I snapped another pic:
Did I say that this camera has a BIG LCD screen so I don't need my glasses to see what I'm shooting? Yeah right!
Let me zoom back a little... This has got to be it - click!
Well, I think I saw a little more of it this time....
Sooooo.... I zoomed out a little more, and between that and the fact that it was now moving away from me and getting smaller, I finally got this one:
Definitely not the shot I wanted - &*@#$!%^&*! - but at least it's all there....
God bless our military and keep our servicemembers safe!!!
