Yellow Thick Coin

So I was at the park and found this coin, it's about the size of a quarter and a little bit thicker than a nickel. It's yellow in color but can't see either side because it's pretty dirty. I already scrubbed it with a toothbrush and soap but it's still pretty dirty. What kind of coin could it be and how can I clean it?

most likely not a coin but rather a brass token * ( in the first photo -note the dotted line around the coins edge ) ---P.S.---gold wouldn't tarnish like that

With the "greenish" colored spots, my first impression would lead me to believe it's made out of copper. . . maybe a Large Half-Cent.

Since it's already "environmentally damaged", I would heat up some Hyrogen Peroxide in a small glass dish (an ounce or two) in your microwave until it's hot to the touch then drop your coin into the dish and the encrustation should start to flake off within 5 or 10 minutes. Use the toothbrush on it again under running water and hopefully, you may reveal some features.

Looks like a Mexican $100 coin. Not recognized as currency anymore.
Find a lot here in California. They are very think and brass in color.

Thanks Tim. It does look like one of those. I have it right now in hydrogen peroxide with white vinegar and it's cleaning up.

"About the size of a quarter" may need to be further qualified. The US quarter has a diameter of 24.3 MM, the 100 peso coin has a diameter of 26.5 mm; and the one peso coin (1984-1987) had a diameter of 24.5. Can you measure yours and tell us in mm what the diameter is?
Meanwhile, 'doublet2A', I like the call of it being a Mexican coin. I can see what appears to be the wings of the eagle on the obverse.
If this coin be either the one peso or the 100 peso coin, cleaning it further will not adversely affect its value.
