Is it just me or does it appear almost every town/area seem to be going yard sale crazy this weekend?

I tried making my usual list of places to visit and I am finding myself "bumping" places off the list for other spots.

There are literally hundreds of decent sounding ads on craigslist for yard sales that I could go to. I have no idea how I am possibly going to maximize my time but I will try to hit as many as possible. Gonna stop at the ATM and load up on cash for this one.

Good luck to all who are going through similar circumstances this weekend! Will post back here with my finds.

Re: yard sale madness

I have found my usual 50-60 (can only hit about 20 of these because I follow signs and it throws off my route.) That is about normal for around here, all year round. But the odd thing is, my daughter asked to come along with me. She has never done that before. She moves away in 5 days to start her 3rd year in college. Maybe she just wants to be with her dad a little bit. :tongue3: NAAAAAA.

Re: yard sale madness

In my area yard sales on any day other than Saturday are hard to find except for the occasional Friday deal. Well this is my Saturday to work so I couldn't go to any but I woke up to a steady downpour so I guess it wasn't so bad having to work today. There is always next weekend!

Re: yard sale madness

here around Wichita, they start selling on thursday, by saturday, all the good stuff is gone

Re: yard sale madness

It seems to be a pretty busy weekend here. I mapped out 20 of the 30 nearby, made it through 12 before it got too late. Most Saturdays there's only about half that.

I just found yardsaletreasuremap.com about a month ago - I find it real handy for plotting my route. How do you plot your route?

Outside of that gooseneck lamp, I would have walked right past every one of those items. I honestly would not have even looked at them to check the price.

Is any of that actually worth something? It all looks really rough.

I didn't even post pics of the records but I already broke even on a small stack of those. Check the stanley 78 planer, the ammo can, and the lead ladle's prices on ebay and get back to me...

the planer seems to be going for $10-30.... not a lot to get excited about
ammo cans go for $5-15.... even less to get excited about and yours looks in really bad shape
lead ladles... $5-15....

I guess when I see pictures of people's finds on here, I'm expecting higher dollar items, that's all.

As for the records, I just don't buy records period. It's not for me. I don't have the time to learn / browse through every record at every sale I go to and then list individually.

Hey Bazinga, didn't anyone ever teach you what to do if you've got nothing nice to say? So far you've done nothing but nitpick everyone's videos and finds in all of the threads you've posted in here. Instead of telling us all what you don't like or what you wouldn't buy, why don't you show us some of the tremendous items that you have found so that all of us can learn a little something? Either that or go leave your miserable posts under some other topic.

An ignore button exists?? Awesome...there it is. One more thing i have learned from the Turtle.
Hey Turtle, how about accepting that facebook friend request...

I like the table. I would have picked-up atleast half the items if the price was right.
