Yard Sale Find - that was a cellar hole find

Hi All,

OK - went to a yard sale today and found this item... It was mounted on a picture frame - thought it was strange so I bought it... (that's just me ) - on the back it says "From old cellar hole at Mineral Hill" - but, now the question - what the heck is it? I am thinking something from a cook stove possibly - I have no idea... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated...
