Y'all amaze me...try this one

This was also in that foreign lot I bought by the pound. I'm pretty sure it's silver. (I'd like to get deals like that more often!)
On the side where the book is it says,"sancionada por el congreso jral.del pery" On the other side it says, "pro-mulgado y jur(????)en 20 abril (??)28".

it sanctioned by the Congress "of something" not quite sure

Is that "sancionada por el congreso jral.del pery" or "sancionada por el congreso jral.del peru"?

It's evidently a commemorative medal rather than a coin, as it doesn't seem to be listed in the "Peru" section of the SCWC.

The date is probably 20 Abril 1828, a few years after Peru's independence from Spain.

The inscriptions appear to mean something like, "Sanctioned by the Congress of Peru" and "To promulgate [i.e., to proclaim]..."
