Ya know, it don't take much.
When it comes to detecting, it just doesn't take very much to save a hunt. At least, not for me.
I guess I've learned that I'm just not going to find it all in one day and that it's a lifelong thing. If I don't get something today, it's ok because I know I'll be back another day.
Today, I really wasn't looking to find a lot. I went back to the "deep" field to practice my skills some more. I KNOW this park has been hunted in the past. But, the last time out I noticed just how deep the ground was. (sic soft). Anything old there will more than likely be deep! I found a couple nice finds last time, that's all, just a couple. But, it left me with the impression that there is more here.
Anyway, I'm out, hunting for about 4 hours! Hot, humid, sticky, dodging showers. Digging the "smalls". Which meant a LOT of can-slaw. After 4 hours, I had gotten what I came for, an education. But, not much else. So, "AS I WAS WALKING BACK TO THE CAR", , I get this hit, iffy but the first couple passes kicked up to about 89. Best for the day. Here's how it unfolded:
Ahhhhhh.
Once I saw the silver, reeded edge, my day was completed.
The day was saved!
I think this used to be a key.
4 hours on a planned, "iffy" hunt? A Merc? I'm satisfied.
Then, to top it off.
Look at what my ride looked like when it showed up!
Talk about ridin' in style! LOL
Thanks for peeking!
HH!
