Hi nearihunter!
I used to use the Xterra 50 and then the Xterra 705. They were great units. Since you are experienced with the Ace series, the At Pro would be an easy upgrade. You will like the pro mode with proportional audio, ground balance capabilities, and the advantage of having target ID numbers. The water proof feature makes it a very versatile detector.

I always start off saying the same thing,,, I'm sure im about to get bashed but this is just an opinion, AT PRO IS CHEAPLY MADE,,,,,, I'm sorry Garrett users but the sounds this thing makes is horrible, and it is definitely made cheap. Buy a WHITES,MINELAB,FISHER,TESORO and you won't be disapointed. Just my 2 cents
