The one with the "I" Im pretty sure is "Infantry", the other could have been on either and infantryman or a cavalryman, I suppose. Im not an expert on old military uniform or anything. If the one is from the infantry, that means there were infantrymen posted there, in addition to the cavalry troops that we already know about.

And Im not sure how you would date these, although I know that the screwback type collar disks you have there are from the World War I time period.
