Ok, need some help if anyone can. I am using an older machine, a BH Pioneer 101, now you can give me grief, but I found a couple of fence post rails roughly 8" down this afternoon. I was using it in the all metal mode. I really want to find possibly some medals if there are any, coins from the era, and maybe some buttons. To help with that, how should I set up my detector, or better yet, how would you set up your detector? Would you have it in the coin mode, or jewelry mode. The ground is hard, but digable, and I was getting good penetration, but it is not sandy. Hopping that it will rain tonight and help soften the ground. I spent about 10 minutes digging that fence post rail. The other thing, I do not know if the government covered the area once the camp was closed down. The prisoners lived in tents and there were 1200 German officers there (Town pop 845).

There is also a cement slab where a one room school house used to be. I believe the trailers not sit on where the tents were. Someone posted a link to a site that had good information, if anyone wants to come with and help let me know I have permission, so I will have to be with you.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the link I was given by someone here. Good information, and 2 hand drawn maps.

You may have to copy and past, or look at my thread entitled, trying to pinpoint

I realized I am looking for the same stuff as if I was working a tot lot. Going to set detector up as that and see what happens.

His disheartening, I get over there and thought I would have about an hour before the storm blew in, I was wrong.
