Stopped at a library sale yesterday. They were putting out some donated boxes of books and one of the women came up to me and said "This is interesting". The inscription says it was donated to the USS Colusa from the 192 Ordnance Depot Company on the island of New Caledonia. The book is a first edition from 1945. The USS Colusa was only in service from 1944 to 1946, and scrapped in 1966. The book only cost 25 cents.

Cool find. The USS Silversides, a WW2 sub, is still afloat at the USS Silversides Submarine Museum in Muskegon, Michigan. They have their own website, you should take a look. It sunk the third most enemy tonnage in the war.

Thanks for the information on the museum Kray Gelder. Didn't think about the museum possibly having an interest in the book JimDon, thanks for the suggestion.

In boy scouts I got to stay the night on the USS Silversides one of the fellow scouts grandpa actually was stationed on the Silversides and told us a story about some prisoners they captured and tortured....
