Maybe not from a bullet. Maybe from the latch being ripped out?

I remember seeing a similar configuration but can't place it! It sure looks like a type of WWII Bomber machine gun cover with a barrel sticking out. Something remote controlled mounted on the side of an aircraft. Dang - I just can't place it!
