Still recovering from last nights hunt, lol. Hit the honey hole yesterday with Car91rs and came out with some unexpected item. A year ago in the same place where we've found numerous treasures/keepers my buddy car91rs found an interesting WWII Philippines trench ring dated 1945. Well, a year after he found his I found an identical ring with the exception of a little gold tone on the front on mine. What are the chances of that, then again we've found so much military buttons, pins and dog tags and this spot. I guess this makes us ring brother, lol...
Well, as always those iffy tones are the ones that have the best rewards. I dug one with a low tone and VDI yesterday. I almost left behind. At first glance it appeared to be a coin and then iron trash with a cut in the center like a horse shoe, but then I managed to clean a corner that revealed groves... Still confused if it was a coin or not just cause of the cut in the center. My buddy identified it quick as a folklore chilling manipulated possibly by a soldier durning the war. That would explained a lot based on the many many military items found dating WWII and prior. Most of the coins we have found at this place date from 1889-1953 with the majority 1910-1920's. Any information on my buddy's theory please feel free to give your two cents please.
Another odd find, was a small statue with AJM initials on the bottom. Still don't know if it's made of plaster or what but it was a neat find. We occasionally find bones and at first I thought it was a bone or PVC pipe. Almost ran the pick on it when I scooped it up. Noticed the signature but when I turned it over, well I'll let you decide what it is. Any HELP IDENTIFYING this statue is greatly appreciated it. Enjoy the picks
