WWI Victory Loan Badge/Pin &
Hey Gang, I got out for a couple of hours today in the yard of a Victorian homeplace, which was close to the railroad responsible for taking CW soldiers from Richmond, VA to Atlanta.
I found a Victory Loan badge from WWII (I think). From my understanding these were given out when the Victory Loan train came through various cities. This one does not have a hole in it like those made from the German cannons & tanks. It's too thin to be a token, but almost as thick as a dime. Not too far from this Victory Loan, I found the old railroad spike.
I thought the larger round object was part of a pocket watch, but after I got it home, I realized there was iron on it, so I'm not sure what it is.
As far as the button is concerned, it reminds me of those from the 1950's, which were cloth covered and on ladies dresses, but I don't remember any of those having an iron shank. The face of the button is not smooth, and was done during manufacturing, and not from damage.
Any information, thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Breezie
