Saturday was take a kid detecting day for me. I took my 9 year old girl and a friend that has been wanting to go with me for months. He loves history and anything war related. It's great to see a kids reaction to every signal and what comes out. We hit a yard that didn't produce a ton of relics, but we had a blast with what we did find. We found two smashed thimbles with ads on them, one from Tennessee & one is a Churngold Butterine Co. from Cincinnati Ohio. Also dug a "Hinds Honey And Almond Cream Bloomfield NJ" bottle & what I believe to be an old Scout pin with St.Louis 04, not sure of the age but it looks early. The cuff link is neat with the flashy "stone" in it. The token is a WWI "Good Luck To Our Army" token, that was made around 1914-1918. Only found a few wheats & clad but no silver. When I dropped our buddy off he was so excited to show his Mom what he had found, I gave him a camo finds pouch that he used for his relics & I put a couple of CW Minnie & Round balls for a nice little surprise.
