WW2 air base

Out today in 21 degree weather in california at a ww2 air base in the central valley.Found a few coins two buttons an emblem and a big jack rabbit.My camera isnt working for a photo but the emblem or pin has latin on it.At the bottom it has the words in latin sustineo alas any ideas.
