DIGGIN' IN NEVADA
HELLO,
THE WIFE AND I DETECTED HER GRANDFATHERS YARD LAST YR AND I DUG THIS MEDAL, HE WAS A WWII VET AND I THINK THIS MEDAL MIGHT HAVE COME FROM THAT TIME FRAM.
THE PICTURES ARE PRETTY CRAPPY SO I WILL GIVE YOU AS MUCH DETAIL AS I POSSIBLY CAN.
IT APPEARS TO BE RED AND WHITE WITH A STAR IN THE UPPER PART AND A GRIFFON IN THE LOWER PART SEPERATED BY TWO WAVY LINES THE STAR AND GRIFFON AND LINES ARE RED ON A WHITE BACK GROUND.
ALONG THE BOTTOM PART OF THE SHIELD IS A RIBBON THAT HAVE THE WORDS, " STRIVING TO THE HIGHEST" THEY ARE WHITE ON A RED BACK GROUND...THE BACK HAS A DOUBLE PIN, AND THE WORDS ....NSMEYER INC. BELOW THAT , NEW YORK,
THEN BELOW NEW YORK ARE TWO SHIEDS SIDE BY SIDE THE SHIELD ON THE LEFT I CANT MAKE OUT, THE SHIELD ON THE RIGHT IS SPLIT IN HALF WITH THE LETTER M ON THE BOTTOM NOT SURE ABOUT THE TOP.
ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRICIATED.
THANKS
AND HAPPY HUNTING
LGP

Nice Medal, WTG!!!
Just a little tip on the pics, If you have a magnifying glass around. You can hold it in front of the camera lens while taking a closeup, it really helps a lot, sometimes...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~
