Nice. These were sometimes used in close combat fighting, in the trenches. Hence the name entrenching tool, besides digging the trenches, it was also a weapon. I have an M-1943 with the canvas carrier I picked up for $5 a while back.
 

Very nice, I bought one of those for my dad for 45 bucks, not quite as good of a deal heh. I believe they are called the M1910 and were made and used into WW2 (really don't know, just like 'em as tools), maybe there are some markings under the rust?

All I can see under the rust is ''U.S.''
