Pretty cool.
I've visited a friend who lives in Brest.
Was the location of a large U-Boat pen in WW-2.
Still plenty of shore-defense pillboxes hidden (and some very large ones not so hidden) in the surrounding hills and seashore.

Curious if it was found somewhere along this 15 mile path in Upshur County
(Several possible leads if you wanted to locate family)

1. Survives wwi, returns from France in 1919, 23 yrs. old. (smack in the middle of the "Spanish Pandemic")

2. 1940, Married with four children, 44 yrs. old (colloquially known as Bousley Fork, Buckhannon in the census ? You may be able to find this exact site ?)

3. 1962, Died at 66 yrs. old, buried at Heavner Cemetery, Buckhannon

Although it's a WWII return site, they have the skills to help track down living family if you want to return it. They helped me return a WWI Australian Dog Tag to the family. They were very grateful as they had nothing from that period in the family.

Thanks Crusader. After reading your post, I contacted the site with a WWII USMC dog tag I found a couple of years ago. I had not been able to find living kin. Sorry to hijack the thread, but this is a very nice site. Thanks for sharing.
