I found this item a few feet away from where I found a musket ball. I've been leaning toward button, but looks like this was made to fit tightly against something? IHC for size reference.

I sure do feel frustrated and stupid! I know those have been posted on here before, and I use to know what they are..but .. my mind is declining and I can't remember "S-t" anymore!

These have been posted here in the past. Somewhere there is a long thread about them. I don't think we ever came to a solid conclusion but I think they are part of a turn of the 20th C. screen door hinge.

Looks the lid for the filler hole of an old drip oiler. The little hole is for the keeper. Tony
