Interesting story with a lot of information. I'd never heard of this ship before. Pictures are mostly stock, but there is one amazing picture of the ship fully engulfed in flames, along with what appears to be the USS Burns putting, or about to put a torpedo into her side to sink it. The stuff that people went through and had to accomplish back then never ceases to amaze me:

74 Years Later, the Wreck of an Aircraft Carrier Disabled by Kamikazes Has Finally Been Found

They don't disclose the location of the wreck because the high-grade steel used in these old warships is a target for looters.

Hmmm...I just clicked the link and had no problem seeing it. Newest version of Firefox, with both Adblock Plus and Ghostery running, so you would think that if anyone couldn't see the article it would be me. Not sure why you are having trouble seeing it. Here's a few other links to articles about the find:

Wreckage found off Philippines is WWII aircraft carrier which deployed from San Diego

Divers Helped Confirm US Navy Wreck Site as World War II Carrier USS Ommaney Bay
This link has a video of the "wreck site" at the end of the article, but most of it is extant footage from WWII. The first several seconds show a diver hitting the water, followed by a brief look at the site. For what it's worth, this diver is loaded up with more equipment than I have ever seen on a diver. Not even sure what it all is.

My Father was on the Escort Carrier Kalinin Bay, CVE 68. He was in the Battle of Leyte Gulf/Samar. Twin 40MM Gunner and Ships Diver. I have his scrap book, he saved everything, lots of pixs, Battle damage report, copy of message from Nimitz, Copy of the Presidential Unit Citation, he gave me all his Battle Ribbons and Medals when I was a kid and I wore them when we played army not having a clue what he went thru to recieve them. Never talked about it.
