Nice desk! I got a piece of custom glass from a window company, it was a lot cheaper than the local glass company.

Lovely solid piece of furniture
For the cost of the piece of glass, why not just refinish the top?
Put glass over the surface, and it would still have the aged/needing attention look.

A buddy does antique furniture he told me NOT to touch the finish. The tinted lacquer finish adds a lot to the value ????

That makes sense, as it could devalue the originality of the piece.
Now from not knowing the value of such a piece, what is something like this worth approx. in the market place today?

I can't find one exactly like it, up to $6k but this one won't go for near that much. It will cost someone to make me have to move it all again.

Do you want Glass or will Plexiglass be ok ?
