So wildest metal detecting adventure to date. I was out with A2Coins and found a 1942 quarter and two bronze plaques from the Notre Dame Field house. I've emailed Notre Dame. My best guess is that some kids stole it after a U of M and Notre Dame football game. Enjoy. 20180407_131219.jpg

It was my last signal of the day and my batteries were almost dead...i got mixed signals on it....almost didn't dig it....they were double wrapped in plastic bags and duct tape...dig everything

The butterfly pendant I dug today I passed the first time because it showed being a tab. Later I passed over it again and decided to dig it. Glad I did.

Wow somehow that should have shown a rather large object, never the less I hopr you get an answer from them. It's always a good day when a silver quarter is dug.

Awesome finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Let us know what Notre Dame says? Im betting they want them back!

that would be an awesome return for sure, very awesome find

University hasn't contacted me back yet, it's too soon I reckon. Monday rolls around and I'll probably hear back from them.

you may want to search our university bronze plaque forum

Two really cool finds, will be watching for the reply back on what they say about the plaques.

Wow! That’s not something you see every day! Hope Notre Dame gets back to you soon. Well done

A unique return once completed. Tell them they should give you permission to detect the grounds in return for the plaques, lol.

Good luck on the return, I'm sure they will bite your hand off when they get the message.

This find is a Banner where I'm from I was with him when he found them. This is a great guy to detect with down to earth just awesome and a lot of fun. I have returned a couple rings in my day its a great feeling!!!!! One of my greatest finds is an old railroad tag from a line that only ran a few years and the railroad historical society wanted me to donate it I declined.. I think I would keep them myself those things are HEAVY...... I think you will be happy either way till next time my friend this Saturday I hope. Let us know when you get a reply Booom Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's hw its done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That my thought but then again down the road they might just say keep em. Also wouldn't get in trouble for possession of stolen property LOL!!!!!!! That's hillarious to find those I love it!!!!!!!

Good luck on the return, I'm sure they will bite your hand off when they get the message.
Well, it IS Notre Dame...so there is that.
There is never a wrong time to do the right thing. Glad you contacted them.
