Went on a hunt today with Jimmy to where an old house used to be out in the middle of a tree nursery. Not a lot of good signals, but quite a few pieces of aluminum. I hit the first good one reading like a Silver Dime. Dug it up at about 8” and it was some type of Military something with an old style Eagle on it. I’ve had a couple ideas that it may be a cape or cloak clasp from the CW or earlier🤷🏼‍♂️
Any input would be much appreciated on it! Also found this little brass pistol buckle of some kind. It’s heavy brass and looks to be of the same era. Not too far away from the Eagle thing . Then I found a 1904 V Nickel and a reins guide.
After that We didn’t find much other than what I got early on. Any help in ID’s on the round Military Eagle Piece, or the Pistol thing will be Much appreciated!! Thanks for Looking and Happy Hunting!!!

That pistol buckle is way cool, as is the eagle button thing... although they don't appear to be civil war related ..

Congrats on your great finds! I had a kids buckle that looked just like that only newish. I thought I still had it but can't find it. Sorry.

Man, that was a great hunt, congrats!
The buckle is def post civil war as that is no doubt a Colt SAA depicted, and was first made in 1873. It sure is a cool piece though!
Where's all the experts on buttons and things? Come on guys!

just taking a wild stab here RJ but the eagle artifact resembles a 1850 ish horse rosette...pre civil war anyway imo judging by eagle design

Thank You!! I’ll take any guess or opinion I can get. I did nitice that there aren’t arrows in its talons, so that could be more of the direction as to what it is.. I like input all the time:)

Hello Digger RJ

Seen your post today, really cool find! and wanted to share this with you something that I purchased awhile back for $5
The very first button is on the top right chest pocket. The second button is on the left chest pocket. The third button is the very last one at the bottom. The fourth button is the located at the lower right pocket.
Looks in Great! condition.
