Would you open these??

I just did a box like this 30 minutes ago. I searched them and got nothing, but you do it because you never know.

Good Luck! Are they Brinks?

Nope. Wouldn't even think of opening them. I also routinely buy lottery tickets and throw them away without even checking to see if I won.

I find 40%ers in those pretty often. Some people only keep 90%ers so I check everything.

No - dump em - you would be better off buying some boxes of dimes with the time you would waste on those.

Haha, thanks for the sarcasm... I will inevitably check then but I'm not that motivated at the moment. They are Brinks and I would do the same thing with my dumps if it wasn't so time consuming and I didn't have access to 5 Jetsort cummins counters. I did find my first 90% proof 2002 from a silver set in a Brinks box. Same gave up an 87 P and a 66.

Wow, that 90% proof looks toned/tarnished. Pic a little blurry. Great find though swade. I know what you mean about lack of motivation to search those dumps. I've got two boxes I think are skunks so ill get to em when I get to em. HH

I'd search em, as I've found 40% in dumps just like those before, though I date check rather than edge check.

It's hard to get a good shot of the silver proofs, isn't it? I found my first earlier this year and posted it, and was never satisfied with how the picture turned out.

I'd take 40% over getting skunked any day. And I would search them. How long does it take? 15 minutes? 30? Not long and it will give you peace of mind, rather than wondering if you had dumped silver.

I'd go through them. I had picked up someones dump. They had put a green marker down the sides. I found a '64 they had missed. The edge was really dark. That is why I date search.

Spray them silver, roll them back up like that, take them back to your pickup bank, tell the Teller to give them to the guy who brought them in, Enjoy.

Just wondering MrSchulz, Whats your theory or concept behind spraying non silver coins silver? Is it to get back at the other pickers? How much money do you spend on paint? Since the majority of coins are non silver it seems like that's awfully a lot of wasted time and money, unless i'm not understanding things right. thanks!

You sure you want to go down that road? Look at his post history he's all about painting coins. It's not worth talking about. It's like engaging kevin about the Federal Reserve or Eminem his silly persona. They are young men. Let's leave it at that. If you want the :censored: to die, you shouldn't feed them...

thanks Curly'sGold I'll have to scour the forums for answers! :)
