would this be stupid?

Anytime I get clear-wrapped, I always open them and pour them in the machine. I don't want to keep getting the same rolls back.

but i thought why not trade a opened box for unopened box? they don't have the excuse they need to keep their dimes for businesses...

Actually they do. At a Wells Fargo in Midvale, I was told that most of their customers(the surrounding stores) preferred their Dime boxes closed. I was also told at a Wells Fargo in Orem that they don't like opening boxes just so people like me can search.

Just dump them at one branch and buy a box at another. Clear rolls are the best for dimes. If you are lucky the silver finds will be close to the end so you can pop them out then refill with the missing dime(s). The worst part is the time it takes the teller to count all the rolls as they are never happy to get a box of rolled coins....

I am a dime maniac...

If I only have one box and I want another, I say, Id like to make a deposit please. As they start the transaction the teller says, K, swipe your card, and then I say, "Actually can I just swap that out for a new box, whatevers easiest". Half the time they say sure, no questions...I get questioned maybe half the time on why, I just say my son and I are coin collectors and we like to go through them and fill up our folders, we are almost done! WORKS EVERY TIME. No paper trail this way either, clean easy swap, no swiping of the card!

I have now built great relationships in almost all my banks using this technique because they dont care the 2nd, 3rd, 4th....I believe this is an effective technique because when you say deposit, they look at you like a normal customer and not a CRH. Then when you switch gears and say actually can I just swap it out, they justify it with, oh that was an impulse decision, thats nice of him to do with his son...blah blah blha or whatever....makes the point.

However, I have not tried this with clear plastic...becuase they would know we didnt even sort through them obviously. Sorry I digressed with my tecnique on paper dime roll swapping, but its a great technique, try it out! Doesnt work if you dump halves Ive noticed, then your just another CRH maniac.... haha

I turned in a $100 in clear wrapped dimes this morning. The teller acted like she'd never seen clear wrapped dimes before. She had to ask another teller if she could take them. I don't get it. If I'd walked in there with 100 one dollar bills there wouldn't have been a problem. She also wanted my name and address on every roll. I told her I'd do it if she promised to take my info off before she handed them to another customer. ;D
