Hello all,
Thank you for viewing this thread.

This bullet was found where some civil war material was found. An online relic site shows it is a Savage 36 caliber. If anyone would agree with that it would help or if you have some other information please share. The pointed end is blunt looking. The base is totally flat. IMAG1269.jpg best,

IMO
It's likely a "modern (but old) cast 30?? cal pistol or Rifle Bullet"

Rings just don't look right for a Savage .

Also my opinion this bullet could have been fired but It's tough for me to see Lands & Groves .

I keep all old bullets I dig like this one. but then again I have been called a Hoarder.

Davers,
The length of the bullet is .75 inches. The groove has no reed shaped imprints. Does the bullet appear to have evidence of a brass cartridge scar? It had been fired and has rifling scars . This example is not in the Dean Thomas book. Im new at id things. Thanks.
