This is another item I dug in the side yard of a late 1700's-early1800's house in upstate NY. I posted on Today's Finds and received ideas that it might be a suspender buckle or a rifle sling buckle. Just wondering if any one can pin it down and maybe give an approx. time period for it. It measures 2" across along the teeth portion and is 1 3/4" from top to bottom as it sits in the pictures. There are what appear to be two iron rivets on the top part of it. The top rivet part of it swivels on the bar running through it. Thanks for looking.
