I was at a Neighbor's place for a Sunday Sale. Now, these people are the kind of people who are nice enough person to person, but there are usually cars on the lawn, shouting of profanity and so on coming from inside the house. So, all in all, pretty dubious. Anyhow, They had a couple of nice things. A nice new wine chiller and a new Sony Arm Radio (for exercise) for $2 each (currently on Amazon for $125 for the pair. There was a really cool Harley Jacket. As I was looking at it, I felt something in the Pocket... A nice Prescription Drug bottle with several vials of White Powder... "Uh, I don't think you want to sell this..." They took it, made up a story of a friend who gave them the jacket and said they were going in to flush it...

Sure thing... I did buy the Jacket for $8.

What is the worst thing you've ever found (Lets try to not put biological products into this thread... If it came out of a body, I really don't want to hear about it.... Thanks).

In a storage locker a 3 pound package of hamburger, Had been there at least 6 months. I have found lots of dead rats as well but the burger smelled worse. It was a sealed tube so nothing could get into it easy.

What about something that goes into a body. I told about it at the time. Nice box, church yardsale, opened box didn't know what it was picked it up, about the size of a small cantalope, kind of squishy but firm. Then it hit me. I found one breast implant.

Another time at a family yard sale, both parents and 2 or 3 grade schoolers. It was a yard sale for their lately departed uncle. Lots of camera equipment and developing equipment. I spotted some boxes of slides and always check to see if anything interesting. I started to look at one set and stopped and brought them over to the father and told him he probably didn't want to sell these. Well you know kid's and their selective hearing. one of the girls asked "daddy why shouldn't we sell those?" I told her because they are broken and she wandered off. They were pics of her uncle all naked as can be with other guys in the same condition.

Bought a HUGE collection of postage stamps - thousands - all laid out by Scotts number in wax envelopes. Paid $75.00. I looked up the first few numbers on ebay and thought we had a great find - several of them were selling in the $100+ range. A friend of mine reviewed them and determined that the stamps in the envelopes did not correspond to the scotts numbers on the outside -- not even close. 1940's stamps in envelopes marked with 1800's scott's numbers. The whole collection was valued at $20.00 - on a good day. if the the stamps hadn't been cancelled, they would have been worth about $250.00.

Very aggravating.

Bought a full set of reed and barton sterling flatware at an estate sale for $150.00. I told the guy who was running the sale that it was an incredible deal. He advised that he just needed to move stuff and had additional sterling he would sell for a similar price. I left him my email address. Two days later I got an email -- not offering more bargain priced sterling, but rather asking me to return the first set. He sent me his number and I called him. He told me that he made a "gigantic blunder" on pricing the sterling and needed to get it back. I agreed to meet up with him to return it. We met at a dunkin donuts. He told me he was going to give me my $100.00 back. I explained I had paid $150.00 and he insisted I only paid $100.00. We debated that issue for about five minutes, but there was no convincing him. I eventually agreed to the $100.00. Went out to my car - removed 4 dinner forks from the set, closed the box, gave it to him, and took the $100.00. Definitely not worth the aggravation.

Last one - Bought a "locked safe" at a garage sale. Had something banging around it. I was praying for jewels and wads of cash. Got home, opened the safe and there was a small cheaply made semi-auto pistol inside -- with rounds in the clip. After a weekend of debate on how to deal with it, we removed the rounds, destroyed the pistol with a sledge hammer and buried it under our grape arbor. $40.00 out the window.

Honestly. I would have walked out to my car and gone home. You were right, it was not worth arguing over. I believe your solution was wrong. I would not have deceived him. I do not believe he was trying to deceive you, but even if he HONESTLY believed you had paid $100, the fact that you were willing to return them at all... He should have given in on the $50 and considered it a reward for the kind favor.

There was a time once A guy sold me half a roll of Silver quarters, about $3 in other silver, and a few ikes for $10. About 10 minutes later he asked how much change he had sold me. I told him it was about $15 or so dollars... He said, "Oops, guess that was a mistake." I gave him another $10 and told him I really liked them.

well the grossest things i seen were both in the goodwill bins, one yesterday was a open magnum condom wrapper and a month ago in the mens restroom stall 2 womens underwear wadded up in the corner, GROSS

Holy crap dude! That sterling flatware story made me cringe!!!

I've found peoples cremated ashes before while searching closets at estate sales. More than once! I guess they were bad people and didn't deserve to be taken out of the box, placed in an urn and put on the mantle! lol
