Went back to the frozen field again today, it is thawing quickly now,
about half is digable. First I wanted to cruise the field scouting for more
iron patches, possible old home sites. So,for two and a half hours I zigged
and zagged to and fro, to no avail. My only reward, a single musket ball.
I had enough of that for the day so worked my way back to my original
spot and reworked it for about an hour. Got a jumpy back and forth
signal, dug a bit, scanned the pile, nothing. Scanned the hole, nothing.
Confused, I was about to dig some more and I notice a big clump of
mud stuck to my trowel, shake it off, scan, bingo, a very won large copper.
I had my doubts about getting any detail on this one,but when I cleaned
it up a bit at home a bust appeared. My 2nd king George II in two days
from this site, it is worn thin and you can barely see George but it kinda
made my day.
Thanks for looking and HH to all.
Barry.

Thanks Hogge,
Kinda strange how some of these pop out nice, and some are toast.

Thanks for the resize Rob, have to blame the wife for that. Honestly, she puts up all
my photos. I am a computer dummy.

Hey Derek, how is Thailand treating you?
I dug this, two large cents, and another George II at the huge corn field
over by the locks. The owner tossed me out of there last fall while I
was deer hunting, but I ran into him at a benefit club function last
weekend and asked permission to detect, he says go ahead. Go figure,
he is an odd bird. This is the only site I have been to because the ground
is still a bit frozen. Also found a few musket balls and various buttons(flat)
but nothing fantastic. Been keeping my eye on fort Nellis, I heard they are
going to plow it this spring.
Have fun with your adventure in Thailand, and keep in touch.
Barry.
