I dug this WW1 ID tag at a old farm cabin.
I was able to track down and return it to the
soldiers grandson. Thanks for looking. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1459996675.080891.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1459996759.925500.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1459996807.204071.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1459996886.887479.jpg

Well done Chris.

Not too often someone returns something from such a long time ago, very cool!

Very cool. It's great that you have added to this families history. Great job.

Awesome job on the find and returning a piece of the family's history.

Excellent find and return!

A remarkable find & very nice that you were able to locate family & return it.

Karma should pay you back for that good deed. Well played sir.

So you found it yesterday and were able to return it yesterday? Awesome find. Congrats on returning it to the family also. Did he make it alive through the war?

Terrific find ,and a job well finished in searching and finding the grandson to return it to the family

Job well done!! This one deserves an Honorable Mention.

Yea the grandson just lived up the road from where I found it so wasn't to hard to track him down. Yes he did make it through the war. After returning the tag the grandson showed me the old picture I included in this post. He was pretty emotional about it.

Thank you for your reply. I never get that lucky to find someone that fast. Awesome!!

Great story. You should be proud that it went to the right place. What an amazing position to be in: to be able to restore such a personal belonging to the grandchildren of a man who went through so much so those grandchildren could be there to receive it. We owe so much to our ancestors, all the hardships, war, and misery that many of them went through so we could live a life of ease, peace, and security. This story is illustrative of that.
